Sir Cliff Richard's 'Only Number Ones': A Tribute to Iconic Chart-Topping Hits
Sir Cliff Richard, a renowned musician, is set to release his 48th studio album titled "Only Number Ones." The album will feature covers of popular number one tracks by artists like The Beatles, Elvis Presley, and Harry Styles. Sir Cliff, at 85 years old, will put his own spin on classic and contemporary chart-topping singles spanning eight decades, including hits like "Spirit In The Sky" and "I'm A Believer."
Expressing his excitement for the project, Sir Cliff shared that he proposed the idea to Warner Music, who thankfully agreed. After listening to numerous songs, he carefully selected 12 of his favorites to pay tribute to the talented artists behind these iconic tracks. The album will include covers of songs like "Sign Of The Times" by Harry Styles and "From Me To You" by The Beatles, among others.
The tracklist of "Only Number Ones" also features renditions of beloved songs like "All I Have To Do Is Dream" by The Everly Brothers, "My Sweet Lord" by George Harrison, and "Rock Around The Clock" by Bill Haley And His Comets. Fans can also expect to hear Sir Cliff's take on classics like "Don't Give Up On Us" by David Soul and "Oh, Pretty Woman" by Roy Orbison, as well as a cover of Elvis Presley's "Return To Sender."
Scheduled for release on November 27, the deluxe edition of the album will include 14 of Sir Cliff's own UK number one singles, such as "We Don't Talk Anymore," "The Young Ones," "Bachelor Boy," "Summer Holiday," and "Congratulations." The album was recorded earlier this year and coincides with the 67th anniversary of Sir Cliff's first number one single, "Living Doll," which he recorded with The Drifters in 1959.
To celebrate the upcoming album release, Sir Cliff will host a special afternoon tea event in London the day after his 86th birthday. Fans who pre-order "Only Number Ones" will have the opportunity to attend this exclusive event. With a successful career spanning decades, Sir Cliff is the third best-selling artist in UK singles chart history, boasting 14 chart-topping tracks, seven number one albums, and three Brit Awards.
